Crafter’s Companion 2022 Advent Calendar door 11- partial die cutting

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

Today I used the contents of door 11 to make a card with partial die cutting. This technique can be used with any die in your stash. Basically you hang the part of the die you don’t want to cut off the edge of your cutting plate making an edged card.

Materials used

Crafter’s Companion 2022 Advent Calendar Contents of Door 11

Wreath stamp

White cardstock

Gold cardstock

Black cardstock

Twas the night before Christmas collection

Sentiments from CC Festive sentiments

Gina K Amalgam ink-Obsidian

CC Midas jade green ink

Triblends markers

Paper measurements

5x7 Card base- tent fold

4 ¾ x 5 ¼ patterned paper

4 5/8 x 3 ¾ white paper for stamping

4 6/8 x 3 7/8 for thin gold frame

Directions

1.Across the bottom find the 2 ½ in mark and mark with a pencil

2.Center the die in the middle where you placed the dot, lining it up with the bottom of the paper.

3. Draw a line across the paper about where the bow center is.

4. Tape down the die and place it on the cutting plate so the line through the bow is on the plate edge. Cut the die with the die hanging off.

5. Now place the die to the right then left of the center cut repeating the same steps.

6.Cut out 4 of the dies and stamp them.

7. Color the bows.

8. Glue the bows into place on the bottom of the card where you made the cuts.

9. Stamp the white card with the wreath and greeting and color them in.

10. Glue the wreath to the gold paper then to the patterned paper

11. Glue to the card base.

12. Embellish with gems or sparkle pens as you wish.
