Picture change peek-a-boo

Here is another installment of Christmas in July. Today I made a 5x7 picture change peek a boo card. When the card is closed Santa is in the peek a boo window and when the card is opened a reindeer appears. The sample I made has a Merry Christmas on the front and the one in the video had a corny Christmas joke. The first time you put one together it may seem a little odd the way the card base is glued together but when it’s all glued it will make sense. There is a SVG with the window already cut out listed below if you have a cutter. It even includes a frame and the mat layer The Santa and the reindeer are from Pink and Main and were still available when the video was made.

1. Cut and fold all paper according to the above list.

2. Glue one side of the 5 x 11 score at 5 ½ to the back side of the 5 x 10 5/8 score at 7 on the long side.

3. Glue the mats into place and allow to dry.

4. Stamp the “closed” stamp to the right side of the 4 x 2 ½ paper and the “open” stamp to the middle of the 2 ½ x 2 ½ .

5. Place the die where you want the opening to be and die cut through the front of the card.

6. Now close the card and place the die back in the hole and die cut through the other side of the 5 x 11.

7. Glue the tab of the 5 x 7 ¼ to the backside of the 5 x 11, fold back and form the card back.

8. Close the card and mark the opening as C open the card and mark the opening as O.

9. Glue the stamped images in the opening using the C and O for the closed and open positions.

1. Add sentiments

12. If the card seems floppy you can glue the tab to the to the back of the 5 x 11 to keep it folded.
